MOD and LORe now invite scholars to apply for participation with their own survey questions in the next citizen panel, Citizen Panel IV 2012. Participation with survey questions in the MOD Citizen Panel is free.

CITIZEN PANEL IV 2012

The Citizen Panel IV 2012 will consist of around 10 000 Swedish citizens. The survey is specifically interesting for three kinds of projects: experimental studies based on a self-recruited non representative sample of citizens, panel studies that make use of earlier citizen panels done by LORe, and methodological studies (testing new/old instruments). The Citizen panel has a permanent set of questions asked in all panel waves.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PROPOSALS

Proposals are submitted through "Application to the Citizen Panel IV 2012". The proposal should describe the research background and purpose of the project. The proposal should also include a description of the publications that will result from the project. Furthermore, it is important that it conveys, in great detail, the survey instruments/experimental designs that are proposed to be included in the Citizen panel IV. We encourage interested scholars to take contact with us before the deadline of proposals if they have any questions regarding the proposals. In general, it is also a good idea to let colleagues comment on the proposal before submitting it. MOD’s steering committee (consisting of scholars from six departments of the University of Gothenburg: Economics, Media and Communication, IT-technology, Political Science, Psychology and Sociology) considers each proposal and decides the content of the final panel. Decisions are based on the research quality of the proposals and the interest areas of MOD.

15 November 2011 Call for proposals
31 January 2012 Deadline for proposals
8 February 2012 Decision by steering committee of MOD. Acceptances or rejections of proposals are distributed via e-mail to applicants.
8 February – 16 Mars 2012 LORe staff work on the web design of the questions. It is crucial that the scholars that are accepted to participate in the panel are prepared to immediately react to the suggestions made by the LORe staff during this period. We will not accept delays. Test surveys will be sent out to make sure that all questions function as intended. It is possible that survey questions are rejected at this stage of the process.
